The Fundação Clóvis Salgado and JA.CA launch the open call for the International Residency Program at the Center for Contemporary Art. The Selection Committee will grant original projects proposed by Brazilian and International candidates. The application would be sent by e-mail from January 8th to February 28th, instructions can be found in the Rules and Regulations attachment.
In total, the Program will select 9 (nine) artistic projects and 3 (three) researches, to be held in three residency cycles of two months each. The period for each cycle is: April 15th to June 15th, 2014; July 15th to September 15th, 2014; September 22nd to November 22nd, 2014. The selection process will take in consideration the following criteria: originality and coherence of the proposal; artistic trajectory of the candidate; interaction with the urban territory and local community. The name of the selected artists and researchers will be announced in the Diário Oficial of Minas Gerais and on the FCS:www.fcs.mg.gov.bron the following date: March 18th , 2014.
The Residency Program’s financial support is: The Brazilian artists and researchers will receive a stipend of R$2.600,00 (two thousand and six hundreds Brazilian Reais) payable in two installments. All taxes and fees shall be paid by the artist or researcher. The International artists and researchers will receive the total amount of R$2,600.00(two thousand and six hundreds Brazilian Reais) converted to food tickets and transportation to be used during their participation in the residence. All taxes and fees shall be paid by the artist or researcher. Brazilian and International artists could use the amount of up to R$4,000.00 (Four thousand Brazilian Reais) for the development of their projects, used in consumables and services to be hired directly by the project and paid through the presentation of official invoices. All expenses must be approved by the Coordination Committee. The Program will cover the transportation costs and individual room for the artists and researchers (Brazilian and International) who are not residents of Belo Horizonte.
