A Designer A Day competition 2014

La Trentina, consortium producing and selling apples, supports and promotes young designers giving “space” to their creativity with the A Designer A Day competition which, now in its third edition, returns in a renewed and “evolved” form: no longer a last-minute contest but a competition aimed at selecting projects for participation in a major event scheduled for Fuorisalone 2014, as part of the initiative organised by the INTERNI magazine, in the prestigious location of the University of Milan.
The competition, promoted by La Trentina with POLI.design, Consortium of the Politecnico di Milano, is addressed to young designers (under 35) who will be the protagonists of a dedicated exhibition space, presenting a project able to interpret the various ways of conceiving and expressing food culture in the different traditions, life styles and countries around the world through everyday experiences.
Competition objectivesThe competition asks young designers to reflect on the “apple universe”, in its broadest sense, taking into account the entire supply chain (from picking to processing to consumption): designers must consider the different phases, subsequently identifying a particular area for their design intervention.
The final objective, in fact, is participation of the winning projects in the ADAD 2014 event to be held during the week of the Fuorisalone at the State University of Milan.

_ product processing and/or transformation tools / utensils / techniques;
_ product preservation tools / utensils / techniques;
_ product consumption tools / utensils / techniques;
_ product transport/sales tools / utensils / techniques;
_ waste disposal and/or recycling tools / utensils / techniques;
_ food communication/information/education tools / services.
How to enterParticipation in the competition is free of charge and open to all designers (individually or in a group) under 35 years of age. In the case of groups, a group leader must be identified who will be in charge and be the contact person.
To enter the competition it is necessary to fill in the registration form available on this website and follow the procedure described.
The registration deadline is 24.00 hours on 20 December 2013.
