Ein ehemaliges Modehaus am östlichen Eingang der Fußgängerzone wird ab 02. Mai 2014 internationalen Kunstschaffenden eine neue Plattform auf über 3.000 qm bieten.
Das Modehaus hatte eine mehr als 100-jährige Tradition, in der von Fachwerkhäusern geprägten Innenstadt und galt als bedeutender Magnet der Wolfenbütteler Einkaufsmeile. Diese Magnetwirkung soll ARTGESCHOSS 2014 für sechs Wochen übernehmen, bevor das Quartier neu entwickelt wird.
Das Modehaus ist über die Jahre gewachsen und vereinnahmt insgesamt fünf Häuser, die intern verbunden sind. Dadurch sind diverse Raumsituationen entstanden, die den besonderen Charakter des neuen Ausstellungsortes ausmachen. Dies wird auch Kurator Dmitrij Schurbin, vor eine ganz neue Herausforderung stellen. Der in Berlin lebende Künstler und Mitinitiator wird h 2014 dafür Sorge tragen, ARTGESCHOSS als Gesamtkunstwerk in Szene zu setzen.
Zusätzlich wird der öffentliche Raum als Ausstellungsfläche für Skulpturen und Installationen einbezogen. Auf drei prägnante Plätze können sich Kunstschaffende direkt bewerben. Ca. 50 Künstler werden eingeladen, Ihre Werke zu zeigen. Bewerbungen können ab sofort bis 30. November 2013 eingereicht werden.

A former fashion house at the eastern entrance to the pedestrian mall will offer a new presentation platform on more than 3,000 square metres to international creative artists from 02 May 2014 onwards.
The fashion house had a more than 100-year-old tradition in the town centre characterised by half-timbered houses and was deemed an important magnet of the Wolfenbütteler shopping mall. This magnet effect is something that ARTGESCHOSS will take over in 2014 for six weeks, before the neighbourhood will be redeveloped.
The fashion house has grown over the years and takes up five houses in total, which are connected on the inside . Various space situations have originated from this, which make up the special character of the new exhibition site.
This will also mean a new challenge for curator Dmitrij Schurbin. The Berlin-based artist and co-initiator will also take care of it in 2014 that ARTGESCHOSS will be staged as an overall ouevre d'art.
In addition, the public area is included as an exhibition space for sculptures and art installations. For three succinct locations, artists can apply directly. Approx 50 artists will be invited to exhibit their works. Applications can be submitted as of now until 30 November 2013.
