Every year we distribute Payback royalties to visual artists whose work has appeared in books, magazines and TV in the UK. We collect these from “collective licensing schemes”, which require organisations and businesses to purchase annual licences allowing them to photocopy and scan publications or record TV programmes without breaching anyone’s copyright - for example, when photocopying an image of an artwork in a book. It would otherwise be difficult for artists to individually license these uses. All you need to do is complete our online Payback registration form by midnight, 31 October 2013.
