Rupert is now accepting applications for residency period: 1 July – 21 December, 2014 (May 11 deadline).
Rupert’s residency program invites thinkers – artists, writers, curators, publishers and other creative actors to stay in Vilnius for a flexible amount of time from 2 to 12 weeks and work independently on self-initiated projects with opportunity to attend events that are part of the educational program. Although Rupert residency and educational programs are separate, they remain closely related and sometimes overlap.
In terms of developing their independent projects, residents can work on a project and topic of their choice , although proposals involving educational, social, and Vilnius-focused projects are especially encouraged.
Residency duration is flexible and can last anywhere from 2 to 12 weeks, although longer duration (1 month and more) is encouraged. Each resident is provided with a studio space and mezzanine (approximately 52 sq m. altogether) to be used as personal production space during the residency. The studio is fully furnished and equipped with WiFi.
Rupert is located in a picturesque area of Vilnius in a quiet forest, next to the riverbank, only a short distance from the city’s flourishing cultural centre. The newly-constructed building also houses a spacious gallery, reading room, conference room, and a kitchen.
The residency is FREE but the applicants are responsible for covering their personal (daily and travel) expenses. Rupert’s team will issue acceptance letters for successful residents and support their applications for external grants to cover travel, food, production and other costs.
Applications are accepted until 11 May, 2014 (midnight).
