Oot of Your Suitcase at Barlanark Community Centre on 28 June 2014 will offer artists a unique opportunity to connect with a local audience. The use of suitcases as a display area creates an intimate dynamic with the viewer and the relaxed atmosphere means conversations and reflections are shared naturally between artist and viewer. Exhibition opportunity for artists interested in experimental, participatory or interactive practice. The deadline is Saturday 31 May 2014 at 17:00. Themes we will be exploring include the built environment, 1950s culture, community and urban change, but anything goes as long as it all happens oot of a suitcase! At this democratic one day cultural event people from all walks of life will be invited to take part in creative activities, browse suitcases full of hand-made or pre-loved items and engage with artworks and artists in a relaxed informal environment.
