United Kingdom: Jerwood Drawing prize 2014

The Jerwood Drawing Prize is a joint initiative, led by Drawing Projects UK and supported by Jerwood Charitable Foundation, and now in association with Bath Spa University. It is delivered through the Jerwood Visual Arts programme showing in London and on tour nationally. Selected from original art works, it has established a reputation for its commitment to championing excellence and promoting and celebrating the breadth of contemporary drawing practice within the UK. By showcasing the work of emerging artists alongside established artists, the Prize has helped contribute to the careers of numerous well-known British artists over its 20-year history. An independent panel of three selectors will choose up to 70 drawings for an exhibition in the Jerwood Visual Arts programme at Jerwood Space, London and subsequent national tour. The prizes total £17,000 and will be announced on Tuesday 16 September 2014. The Jerwood Drawing Prize 2014 exhibition will be shown in the Jerwood Visual Arts programme at Jerwood Space, 171 Union Street, London SE1 from 17 September - 26 October 2014, before touring to venues across the UK. Accepted artists will be invited to a private view on Tuesday 16 September 2016 at Jerwood Space, during which the prizes will be awarded. A full colour illustrated catalogue will be produced to accompany the exhibition. The Jerwood Drawing Prize is open to all artists resident in the UK.
