The theme for 2014’s Exhibition and Annual: Being Human The focus of the Awards has always been one of narrative. Visual storytelling, whether sequential or single image, gives scope to the imagination and opens up possibilities beyond the present moment; what happened before? What happens next?
Humanity is self-evidently all around us: although all of us are unique and different, we all are born, live, love, feel, eat, sleep and move – and ultimately we all die. Your brief can explore the shared universal principles of being human, or celebrate the diversity and cultural mix that forms today’s society.
