Bilbao International Art&Fashion calls emerging designers worldwide for its 6th Edition. Entrance is open to young people of any nationality who are aged between 18 and 35 years. The theme is open, although for added merit the work presented should bear some relationship to the world of art from the historic or creative point of view, manifested either, in the inspiration behind the collection itself or in specific references: fabric prints, shapes, details etc. The Jury will pay special attention to the creativity, the quality of the finish and the elegance of the works presented. All collections must be original without having been won any other competition.
Participants may enter for two separate categories:
CATEGORY A: Outfit Design
CATEGORY A: Outfit Design
* 1. Participants must present sketches for THREE OUTFITS. Each sketch must include at least one DIN A3 (42cm x 29.7cm) sized rendering of front and back views. Attached separately there should also be a detailed description of the outfit’s manufacture and its relationship with the world of art.
* One of the outfits must be presented as a completely finished work in fabric (Size 38/40 Esp/Fr; 42/44 lt; 8/10 USA; 10/12 UK). Each participant must name their collection.
CATEGORY B: Accessory Design
CATEGORY B: Accessory Design
* 1. Participants must present sketches for THREE ACCESSORIES (shoes, bags, hats, jewelry, belts etc.). Each sketch must be done on DIN A3 (42cm x 29.7cm), along with a detailed description of the accessory’s manufacture and its relationship with the world of art.
* 2. One of the accessories must be presented as a completely finished work in its corresponding material. Each participant must name their collection. Each participant can attend both categories. Each participant must be individual.
Art&Fashion 2018 will feature the following prizes:
* EUR 10.000 1st prize in the Category A “Garment design” category.
* EUR 10.000 1st prize in the Category B “Accessory design” category.
* EUR 5000 for the best work presented by a young designer who develops his/her work in the Basque Country, whichever category he/she is participating into. The goal of this special prize is to contribute to strengthening Basque designer’s work and their creativity, and position them both locally and internationally.
