An opportunity for artists working with photography to participate in a residency exchange programme between Scots and Italian artists based in Italy and Edinburgh. AiR is a partnership between Stills, Edinburgh, Scotland and Fondazione Fotografia, Modena, Italy.
Duration: 20 October – 30 November 2013 (6 weeks)
Continuing the collaboration initiated in 2010, the aim of AiR is to sustain a dialogue between artists from Scotland and Italy, about the role and potential of the photographic medium within specific locations and contexts. Artists will be asked to undertake research and produce works which engage with the urban or rural environment of the area in which their residency occurs.
The Residency will include
a) one payment of €1,000 to each artist to meet return travel, per diem, research and production costs
b) accommodation in Modena
c) research space at Fondazione Fotografia, Modena
d) access to the collections of the Fondazione Fotografia and Fotomuseo Giuseppe Panini, Modena
e) support from Fondazione Fotografia staff to assist with your research and meet specialists.
