Media Trust and The Scottish Sun have joined forces to launch Column Idol 2013, an initiative to find raw undiscovered writing talent. This is an opportunity for young people aged 16-25 to have their say about something that matters to them and have it read by millions of people across the country.
Young people enter by telling a bit about themselves and what they would like to write about. Four finalists will be selected in Scotland who will be mentored by top journalists from across the paper, helping them polish their ideas and support them as they write their columns. Those shortlisted will present their columns to a high-profile judging panel. The winner will receive the prize of having their column printed in The Scottish Sun in autumn 2013.
Fronted by singer songwriter Amy Macdonald, the closing date for all entries (online or postal) ismidday on 12th July.
