Scotland: Roxburghe Art Competition - Call for Artists

A major new art competition and exhibition is being launched to coincide with the re-opening of the iconic Roxburghe Hotel as a Crowne Plaza property, building on the hotel’s existing association with art and the local community.
Budding artists of all ages are being invited to illustrate a subject of their choosing from one of three categories: a representation of the Roxburghe Hotel; an iconic Scottish scene; or a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Entries will be judged by a distinguished panel including Jonathan Gibbs, Head of Illustration at Edinburgh College of Art, Liam Rudden Arts Editor on the Edinburgh Evening News and prominent Scottish artist Kevin Harman, who exhibited in the hotel last year. It will also include senior executives from Paragon Hotels that has assumed management of the Roxburghe.
Selected entrants will have their works exhibited in the hotel during the judging period, and the overall winner will have their entry acquired and hung in the hotel and other works from their portfolio displayed in a dedicated space in the heart of the hotel.

The closing date for entries is 19th July, and judging will commence on 22nd July with the winner being announced two weeks later.
Entries should be sent to the General Manager, Crowne Plaza Edinburgh – The Roxburghe, 38 Charlotte Square, Edinburgh. EH 2 4HQ.
