Scotland: Polish Contemporary Art Group Edinburgh - Call for artists

The Polish Contemporary Art Group is a newly established platform dedicated to promoting and exhibiting works by Polish contemporary artists at various stages in their careers. The PCAG is a non-profit, private initiative that aims at presenting thought-provoking mixed-media art to the Scottish as well as international public. It is also devoted to creating a common ground for artists to develop international networking and business opportunities with other like-minded people and institutions. The Polish Contemporary Art Group believes that art should be accessible to everyone therefore, we would like to promote understanding of modern art in an environment that is always welcoming, inspiring and informative.

The Polish Contemporary Art Group is proud to announce a call for Polish artists for its first ever exhibition “Quality of everyday life”.

The fast paced world we live in creates in us the expectation of frequent experiences and constant excitement but in the grand scale of things majority of our lives are composed of days, which are very similar to each other. “Quality of everyday life” will focus on those aspects of day to day life which aren’t commonly glamourized or even recognized as valuable in today’s life and yet are invaluable to the positive experience of life.

The PCAG is looking for artists on various stages of their art practice working in all media to submit work exploring the commonly unappreciated value of the ordinary day.

The exhibition will take place in Edinburgh in October (details TBC).

If you are interested in showing your work, please send your submission to plcontemporaryartgroup@gmail.com

Your submission should include:
• Up to 10 images of your work attached in .jpg format, or a weblink to video pieces
• Contact Details and Artist CV
• A brief statement about your work (a short explanation, preferably in English, how your work relates to the exhibition theme. You can tell us about your inspirations, perhaps by other contemporary artists)

The deadline is Wednesday 10 July 2013 at 20:00.
