United Kingdom: iFeatures - Creative England’s low budget filmmaking initiative - Call for applications

iFeatures is Creative England’s low budget filmmaking initiative supported by the BBC, the BFI and Creative Skillset. Now in its third iteration, the new round launched on the 27th of January 2014 and applications close on Friday 14th March 2014 at 6PM.
iFeatures continues our commitment to developing excellence in micro/low budget production and to ensuring that the most dynamic ideas and voices reach their fullest potential. This round, applications are welcome from filmmakers from all over the UK who have an interest in telling stories set in the English regions outside of the M25.
iFeatures is aimed at creative talent that has some professional experience and whose work has already garnered positive industry and/ or public attention. Applicants should be able to evidence a successful track record in shorts, television/online drama, theatre, commercials, music promos, documentary, Artist Film & Video and/or other related media.
During the iFeatures programme, filmmakers will receive both financial and creative support to aid the development of their projects. This will include opportunities to collaborate with peers and well established talent from across the industry. iFeatures will open up a wide network of contacts from script editors to sales agents and we'll help guide each project towards production.
After the submissions period, we'll invite 16 filmmakers to take part in the Initial Development Programme, during which each team will receive a development investment of £3,000 and support from us and our partners in engaging the best, bespoke development strategy for each project. This intensive 8 week programme will see projects move from full treatment to step outline or beat sheet.
8 of the 16 will then be invited to take part in the Full Development Programme. These teams will each receive a further investment of £12,000 to progress their project to full script as well as to carry out more detailed 'packaging' work. This programme will last 12 weeks.
FROM FEBRUARY 2015, 3 SCRIPTS WILL BE GREEN LIT WITH BUDGETS OF £350,000 EACH.
