Visual Artist/s in Residence for 1 year £18,000 or 2 x 6 months at £9,000 each
Applications are being sought for the post(s) of Visual Artist in Residence. Based at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig and in partnership with Creative Scotland and the RSA, the aims of this residency are to give the artist an opportunity to develop their practice within a vibrant language rich community; to encourage interest in and understanding of visual culture within the college and the wider community; and to give expression to the aims of the SMO Visual Arts Strategy. Ideally applicants would be Gaelic speakers but the post is open to learners and to artists whose work is informed by aspects of the Gaelic language and material culture. Applicants will be expected to spend 50% of their time at the College. We are offering a 1year or 6 months in a purpose-built artist studio, accommodation and materials budget.
