The (ARMA) was established in memory of the artist Alexandra Reinhardt and is supported by the Max Reinhardt Charitable Trust. The annual Award enables an artist or artists to undertake a residency working with children and young people to create an artwork in the public realm, and is worth £15,000. engage is the National Association for Gallery Education, and has been working with ARMA on the residency programme since 2012. The selected artist/s will be resident at the Bluecoat, Liverpool for ten weeks from February to April 2015, during which time they will carry out an education and participatory programme aimed to engage children and families from some of Liverpool’s disadvantaged communities. Working closely with Bec Fearon, Head of Engagement and Bryan Biggs, Artistic Director at the Bluecoat, the artist/s’ residency will result in a semi-permanent commissioned artwork to be situated at the front of the building, to be completed by the autumn of 2015.
