Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival is a celebration of the art of film, set in the border town of Berwick-upon-Tweed. The Festival returns 25th – 29th September to once again transform the town of Berwick into one big cinema screen through film premieres, site-specific installations and live events in locations across Berwick and along the town walls. Artists and filmmakers are welcome to submit moving image works of all types and lengths, in response to our theme, North by Northeast, for consideration. As part of our call for submissions, we’re thrilled to be launching our first ever award for Best Short Film, sponsored by Inntravel. Artists and filmmakers will compete for a cash prize of £500 (approx €570), awarded by a Jury on the night. All single screen films that respond to the theme, and are up to 16mins in length, will automatically be considered for selection for the Inntravel Short Film Competition. The final deadline for submissions is 28th June, and the programme will be announced mid-August.
