BAER ART CENTER is located on a beautiful seaside farm in Northwestern Iceland, approximately 400km (4 hour drive) from the capital, Reykjavik. The residency program at Baer is open to professionally established visual artists and architects. Emerging artists and architects of promise are also welcome to apply.
Residencies occur during two sessions of four weeks in the summer months only, each beginning on Monday of week one and ending on Friday of week four.
BAER ART CENTER offers free accommodations for its summer residents. Travel cost, personal expenses and supplies are the responsibility of the applicant.
Operational season is June and July each year, offering two residency sessions per summer.
Length of each residency session is four weeks.
Each residency session is made up of five international/Icelandic artists or architects.
The organisation provides facilities, food, outdoor activites, historical excursions and program administration for its residents. Application deadline is February 1 (postmark date) for every operational season.
