The artistic programme for 2013-2014 entitled Systemics Series is developed by the Artistic Director Joasia Krysa and Production Director Vicente Matallana. The programme aims to connect to the institution’s rich history as a transformational space where different forms of knowledge has been produced. The Systemics Series borrows its title from the field of cybernetics aiming to reflect an increasingly complex world full of connections and interrelations. In this scenario all things are connected dynamically as part of a wider system, extending to science, technology, economics, politics, philosophy, and other discourses and narratives, thus broadening our understanding of contemporary art, and stressing collaborative processes, interactions and transdisciplinarity.
Århus Kunstbygning encourages artists, curators and other cultural producers to propose exhibition projects. To keep the two year programme focused we only accept proposals that are linked to the overall theme of Systemics.
All proposals will be evaluated by the curatorial team in Århus Kunstbygning and an invited guest curator from its advisory board.
Deadline for applications is for the 2014 exhibition the November 31th, 2013.
