Fairfield Mill Sedbergh Cumbria: Workshops 2013

Weaving - Playing with Texture with Weaving Friends of Farfield Mill
Using already prepared rigid heddle looms participants will be able to weave a selection of samples/experimental pieces using yarns of their choice. Larger samples could be used later to make a variety of small items. This workshop is suitable for beginners as well as those with some experience or anyone who wants to refresh their skills.
Wednesday 25 September / £40 pp / 10.30am - 4.30pm

Learn to Crochet with Stella Adams-Schofield
Crochet as a craft is currently enjoying something of a revival. Many of us learned at our grandmother's knee but have long since forgotten the fundamentals that give us the confidence to have another go now. On this workshop, Stella teaches how to work a sample of chain, double crochet, treble and slip stitch and then how to read a pattern. Once you have the basics, just add a little practice and perseverance and, with the help of Stella's valuable 'how to' sheets, you will soon be able to tackle some really interesting projects. During the workshop you will crochet two flower motifs to make into a corsage and take home… along with basic knowledge and skills of a craft to build on and give you hours of future crochet pleasure.
Saturday 12 October / 10.30am - 4.30pm / £40 pp
