Call for Fiction & Poetry - Submissions / The Queen’s Head is seeking to showcase in Issue #5.

The Queen’s Head is seeking fiction and poetry to showcase in Issue #5.

Whether it’s the familiar seen askew, the wildly experimental, or just plain odd, The Queen's Head would love to showcase writers who have a soft-spot for irreverence and an eye for the strange. Unconventional formats are welcome, and we have in the past published microfiction, creative nonfiction, and collaborative works. All fiction submissions should be no more than 3000 words in length.

Poetry submissions meanwhile can be more broad in subject matter, but we’re mostly looking for work that’s sharp, considered and immediate. Poems must be no more than 54 lines, including breaks. We accept multiple submissions of poetry, but will only publish two per writer and, due to layout restrictions, they must then be no more than 27 lines each. That said, we will still try to accommodate unconventional formats.

The deadline for submissions to Issue #5 is the 22nd Sept. All enquiries and submissions should be directed to thequeenszine@gmail.com - please include the title of any submissions in the subject line.

A print-only publication, put together handsomely in spite of a DIY ethos and a shoestring budget, The Queen’s Head is a labour of love. All contributors will, however, receive a free copy of their featured issue.
The Queen’s Head is a new illustrated literary zine, interested exclusively in the strange and the miscellaneous – any themes are coincidental.

Deadline: Sunday 22 September 2013 at 17:00
