Since 2014, the Goethe Institut Marseille and the Camargo
Foundation invite individual artists or teams of up to four artists and scholars
from Germany and the Mediterranean region to apply for a residency at the
Camargo Foundation with each year a specific focus.
This year the residency will focus on
migrations and mobilities. Modernization of transports,
evolutions of technologies and international policies have contributed to
increased circulations of goods, information and persons. However this benefits
unequally to individuals. Mobilities are becoming more and more complex with
evolving trails and practices. This residency aims at contributing to thoughts
and links between migrations and art practices, as well as questionning the role
of art, the different esthetics and political meanings conveyed.
The residency is for one artist or a team of
up to 4 artists and scholars from 3 to 6 weeks in 2016/2017. At least one person
needs to be living in Germany. The selected individual or team will receive a
grant of 2,500 euro. Deadline for application: June 19,
2016 midnight (Paris time).
