Beta-Beta Residency 2016 will take place during Friday 28th October – Friday 4th November 2016. Bringing 13 creatives together in Braemar, Scotland, in the centre of the beautiful Cairngorm National Park. The residency is open to artists, designers, writers, musicians, makers and thinkers of all kinds. The residency activities and structure aim to create a positive environment in which to experiment, discuss and reflect ideas within your practice. Activities will include walks, workshops, screenings, discussions and crit groups, along with enough time to explore, experiment and develop ideas.
The residency in Braemar creates a unique framework in which to research and produce, with a strong connection to nature. Openness, conversation and exchange are are central to what the residency is about, participants will take part in group meals each day and sleep in shared rooms within the 2 Braemar homes and the Unimog, with access to sauna and hot tub facilities. Residents will also have the opportunity to make and present work in the ‘Outhouse’ space on site and throughout the homes and surrounding landscape. An event/exhibition will also take place in Scotland in 2017 as part of the residency outcomes.
Participation in Beta-Beta Residency 2016 costs £215, which includes 7 nights shared accommodation with a week-long programme of residency activities and all meals home-cooked throughout the week by our resident artist/chef Stéfan Tulepo.
Applications are welcomed from creative practitioners from all fields.
