The Glass Art Association of Canada: Call For Submissions

The Glass Art Association of Canada is pleased to present a glass fashion show in Calgary, Alberta, to wrap up the conference themed Beyond Boundaries: 30 Smashing Years.
The glass fashion show is the focal point of the closing night and is set to attract over 300 guests within art communities throughout Canada, the United States and international destinations. Renowned glass artist, Laura Donefer, was the host of the first glass fashion show in 1989. This event is built on the foundation and inspirations of her couture events that are featured within the Glass Art Society and the Glass Art Association of Canada conferences. In previous years, the glass fashion shows have been held in the Corning Museum of Glass (2009), Montreal Science Centre (2010), and Toledo Museum of Art (2012) to name just a few.

Seeking local and international designers that showcase glass couture, the Glass Art Association of Canada is now accepting submissions until January 15th 2013.

We are asking designers to incorporate conceptual or formal elements of glass as the main focus and the glass be an important element in the overall design. Artists are encouraged to use different techniques such as glass blowing, flame working, kiln formed, assemblage or mixed media. If you have an design dancing in your imagination please submit your proposals!
